Reminds me of the Wedding Singer only with a Time Machine involved. Looks funny from the trailer guess we will have to wait and see.
I know this is based on a fairtale, but it kinda of reminds me of Splash. I like Colin Farrell as an actor so this has my interest. Hope to see it in the theater when it comes out.
Looking good, still like the Costner one though.
I do not care what anyone says I loved the first and last films. Even though the first one is a remake of Point Break you still gotta love fast cars, gorgeous women, and action. Sign me up to see the fifth installment whenever it comes out. Now if only I could get Vin Diesel to make Riddick III I will be a happy man.
Variety is reporting that a 5th “Fast and Furious” movie has been given the official green light (the working title for the project is “Fast Five”) and will begin shooting later this year with a release date for sometime in 2011.
Paul Walker, Vin Diesel and director Justin Lin are all returning for the ride.
I still don’t think M. Night Shyamalan can pull this movie off. He hasn’t had a hit since The 6th Sense.
Wow, this movie looks good compared to all the other Western shit he has done lately. Word is also banned in China because it was “too violent”. I hope I will be able to check this out here this month.

The Story:
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu expert Mike Terry (Chiwetel Ejiofor) owns his own dojo with his wife Sondra (Alice Braga) where they mostly train police and beginners. A series of events unfold from an accidental shooting in his dojo to an altercation at a local bar which affects Mike in a variety of ways. Mike is struggling to make ends meet when the opportunity of a lifetime comes up, but will he take advantage of it?
+I love the story and the journey of Mike Terry (Chiwetel Ejiofor) from beginning to end. The director of photography is the same one that did There Will be Blood!
+Tim Allen’s brief role in the film was well portrayed. It almost seemed like he was playing a younger version of himself.
+Awesome and gutsy picture of the MMA or fighting industries toward the end. I have often asked myself that same very question. It was a treat seeing some real MMA fighters in the picture as well.
+The very end is touching and reminded me of Best of the Best.
-I am not sure I feel the wife Sondra would have actually went that far, especially because of the short build up.
-The bar fight footage would have been all over the news and YouTube in minutes after that fight. There is no way in today’s society that would have been kept quite.
Conclusion:
Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely is the main theme of this wonderful little film. Mike goes through his life trying to be true to one’s self and with that must demand respect and honor from the people in his life. This movie never really got great ratings considering David Mamet has written films such as Ronin, The Untouchables, & Glengarry Glen Ross. This is a little hidden gem of a film if you love movies where the Warrior is all about respect and honor to one’s self. Check this one out you won’t be sorry.

The Story:
Walt (Clint Eastwood) is a widowed, grisly war veteran who doesn’t like anyone and dislikes everything except his beer and his good dog. Toad aka Thao Lor (Bee Vang) wants to impress some friends of his by attempting to steal Walt’s prize possession. In the attempt, Toad gets caught and is punished to community service with Walt. Walt & Toad end up becoming good friends even though of their age and heritage differences.
+Clint Eastwood is back in form playing the ultimate racist, old man ever while making the audience care for his character throughout the film.
+The story is simplistic, but it is really about the two main characters Walt & Toad.
+Shocking racial slurs and dialog rarely heard is actually brought out in a funny way through Walt. You cannot help but laugh at some of the things this dirty old man ends up saying.
+Excellent filmography and camera position in the get off my lawn scene is the best, along with the final sequence is shot just gracefully. The birthday scene is a priceless sequence that can be watched over and over again.
-Some of the acting by the minor Hmong roles was a lot left to be desired.
-I just do not think someone of Walt’s age would stay in that situation in the real world especially with his attitude.
-With all the Hmong in that neighborhood one of think they would have helped out that neighbor across the street with his home a long time ago.
Conclusion:
I really enjoyed this film in the theater and on the re watch with my father. I always liked Clint Eastwood playing the badass in films and this one seemed like the type of film to go off and retired that character forever. Yes, the story is weak and some of the secondary characters, but I cannot see how anyone couldn’t like this film. The first stare he gives you in the beginning sets the tone of his character without even one word! The ending is fitting and I enjoyed how it ended with the family. If you like any Clint Eastwood films check this one out without a doubt you will come away with something.
